City Studio

The owner of this studio apartment near Gramercy Park in Manhattan was relocating from Hong Kong, where he had worked in finance for several years. Inspired by his travels, he wanted an apartment that captured the serene essence of contemporary Asian design. The Zen decor features a calming palette of lilac, brown, and grey, while metallic accents add a modern twist. A high-gloss finish on the new walnut floors enhances the sense of calm and refinement.

We separated the bedroom from the living area with a partition wall. The architectural division allows for clearer room functionality and transforms the cramped, quotidian space into more luxurious areas for living, with discreet efficiencies throughout.

When the apartment sold, it broke the building’s per-square-foot record, among more than 150 units.
